We Bought A 1900 Farmhouse!!

Zach and I say we love adventure! And we are taking on our biggest adventure yet. While he is healing from his broken collarbone, we found a 7 acre property with a 1900 farmhouse and a barn that we couldn’t pass up.

The time from finding the property to actually moving (60+ Days) was a crazy rollercoaster because I think every issue that could come up, did. But we have the most amazing realtor/friend who walked us through everything, found us solutions and made this dream a reality.

And the reason it’s our biggest adventure, the property needs a lot of love and elbow grease. We are only about half moved in because there are currently foundation repairs taking place under the house and after that comes the process of leveling all the floors.

Since we were moving from a house with two garages to a property with one old barn, we removed half of the stalls and a good bit of our stuff is in totes, on pallets and in crates until we are able to build a new shop.

The best part about the property? There is plenty of room for our family to move onto the land with us. My parents plan to move their camper onto the property soon and then build their own house soon.

Every night since moving to the property has been working on something. Whether that is cleaning, digging, moving or uncovering 😂. The most exciting project I have taken on so far has been what will become my outdoor kitchen. We uncovered an old concrete slab between the farmhouse and the front field. It will soon have an 8 person table (thanks to Zach’s mom) and string lights overhead and who knows what else. we have already had multiple family dinners there and I can’t wait for countless more.

In the 3 weeks we have been on the new property we have absolutely fallen in love with it. It’s a lot of work and will be that way for quite a while, but it is something that we can make our own and allows us to feel like we are much further from town than we really are.
