Jellystone Park in Frankenmuth, MI

On our recent trip to Michigan, Zach and I stayed at Jellystone Park in Frankenmuth so we could be close to his family and friends. It’s not really the kind of place we would normally camp at since it’s more geared toward families with kids, but it actually worked out great for us.

Campground Activities

When you arrive at the campground, you will get a schedule of activities for the week. It includes things like cartoons and movies, cookie or donut deliveries, wagon rides, and even foam dance parties. They really do a great job of keeping kids entertained the whole time. You can also download the Jellystone Park App to stay up to date on activities.

Choosing a Site

If you want a bigger site in a quieter area, the Deluxe Plus sites are a great pick. There’s plenty of room between spots, plus a tree line that gives a little extra privacy, but you’re still close enough to the bath house to walk there easily.

That’s where we stayed, and it was quiet enough for me to work outside every day. On our breaks we’d walk the dogs, and it was fun to see how excited the kids got about spotting the bears and joining in the activities all week.

If you don’t have a camper or don’t feel like tent camping, Jellystone also has cabins and a few RV rentals, so there are options for everyone.

Activities in Frankenmuth, MI

Jellystone Park is also close to downtown Frankenmuth, which means plenty of restaurant options and great local shops to explore. From local cheeses to the town’s world-famous chicken dinners, there’s no shortage of good food and fun stops nearby.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at Jellystone Park and would recommend it to travelers both with and without kids. For families, it’s the kind of place where the kids stay busy, spend plenty of time outdoors, and end the day happily worn out, which makes it a win for everyone.
