Adventures at the Louisville Jack O’Lantern Spectacular

Happy Halloween!

I am not much of a Halloween person, but last week I was in Louisville for work and Zach tagged along, so he wanted to take me to the Jack O’Lantern Spectacular. He used to live in Louisville and had been to the event before. So we met up with some friends that live there and headed to Iroquois Park.

If you are like me and have never been to this event, it is definitely a spectacular. Throughout the woods along the walking paths in this park there are around 5,000 jack o’lanterns. Some are your more traditional jack o’lanterns. Then there are others that are themed pumpkins. This year’s theme was Television. There were pumpkins with tv shows from different decades and different tv channels.

Fair warning that the start of the path ends up being very crowded, but as you get further down the trail everyone does space out a little more. As a person that isn’t very into Halloween, I absolutely loved this event. It is a great showcase of artistry between the jack o’lanterns, the lighting and the music. Unfortunately, today is the last night of this year’s event, but the same group puts on a Winter Woods Spectacular that I’m sure is just as amazing.
