I absolutely love Christmas time and yes I am one of those that survives and thrives on Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas as soon as it starts every year. Finding gifts for all my friends and family is one of my favorite things. I love a good gadget, but I also enjoy gifting adventures or experiences. So here are a list of some of Zach and my favorite things that might inspire you when it comes to gift ideas for your loved ones this year.
Larger Gifts
Kavu Bags
I have multiple Kavu items. The rope bag and a few different wallets. I am not a person that carries a large purse, so I love their larger wallets for everyday use and I use the rope bag when we go on day trips and travel. They are great to fit rain jackets, water bottles and snacks in. Whenever I am in a store that sells their products I am drawn in to take a look.
Nomadix Towels
Zach gifted me a the National Parks Nomadix Towel last Christmas and I love it so much that I gifted him one for his birthday. They are a wonderful addition to our camping trips because they are quick dry, but still actually dry you off and thin enough to pack easily in the smallest bag.
WeatherTech Floor Mats
Zach and I both have WeatherTech floor mats in our vehicles and they are a great addition. He got the ones for my Jeep in the last year and it is so much easier to just take them out and hose them down instead of having to clean and vacuum them.
Yeti Ramblers with Straw Cap
I have a water bottle problem. As in I own way to many and am always looking for more. But the Yeti Rambler has consistently been my favorite. These are what we usually fill up on day trips and throw in my Kavu Bag. I highly suggest getting the straw cap with the bottle. We have learned the hard way though, if you are driving through the mountains, make sure to keep the straw open so the bottle doesn’t pressurize. If you don’t, when you go to take a drink, you will get a fountain inside your vehicle.
Trail Kitchens – Camp Kitchen
The Camp Kitchen is the most expensive gift idea on this list, but if you have an avid car camping person on your list it is a fantastic option. I love this because it folds up and can be a fully stocked kitchen no matter what vehicle/trailer you use. It works great for us for outside our trailer, but I can also pack it up and take in either of our vehicles if we camp without the trailer.
5lb Propane Tank
Another great camping gift is a 5lb propane tank. It is still very portable, but you don’t have to worry about carrying so many of the green canisters.
Off The Grid Trailblazer Pants
We first came across these pants at Overland Expo a few years ago and they have become a favorite for Zach. He calls them is comfy pants. They do offer a female version of these as well, but I have yet to purchase them and try them out.
Dixxon Flannels
Zach has fallen in love with this brand and we are now owners of multiple Dixxon shirts. They due tend to sell out really fast because they do a lot of collaborations with different brands. One of our favorites is the Morris Party Shirt from their Saved By Bell line. It is worth a peak to see if there are any collaborations that you love.
Stocking Stuffers
Dude wipes
These wipes are a great stocking stuffer. They are versatile and we like to carry them with us when we travel for just that reason. They come in different scents and package sizes, so there is something for everyone.
Arcade Adventure Belts
These belts are a recent discovery for us. I am not much of a belt wearer because I swear that a normal belt causes me to bloat and I try to avoid that at all costs. But the cool thing about these belts is that they are stretchy and so far I haven’t had any issues like I do with regular belts. Bonus that they have some really cool designs.
Hobo Knife
Zach and I feel that these are harder to come by than they should be or maybe we just miss them every time we are looking. But we own a couple different versions of Hobo Knifes and they do come in handy. He likes them for when he does camping trips on his motorcycle because they have multiple uses and don’t take up much space.
Goal Zero Light
As lovers of gadgets, we are drawn to brands like Goal Zero. We don’t own many items from them, but it is a group of products that always starts conversation when we see them in stores. This light is one of their products that we do have. We usually throw it on the dash to charge while we are driving some place to camp and then it is charged and ready to go when we get where we are going.
Big Agnes Camp Lights
Another fun lighting option for camping is the Big Agnes Camp Lights. These are fun because you can keep them bundled up to be more like a lamp or you can take them out of the bag and use them as string lights. I love to hang these inside our tent (The string has built in clips on it) when we camp because it allows for enough light to see, but not over powering. They can also be powered by batteries or usb.
Puffin Koozies
Zach bought me my first Puffin Koozie while he was in Sturgis in 2020. A cute beverage sleeping bag. I absolutely fell in love with it, so I asked for another one when it went back to Sturgis this year because we haven’t seen them in any of our favorite outdoor stores. This time he came back with the beverage flannel. Quite fitting with his new love of Dixxon Flannels.
Experiences
Groupon
Groupon is great to use to find experiences to gift at a great price. I have used it for quite a few experience gifts for myself and others. It is great because I can gift things that people mostly likely won’t splurge on themselves for. Plus there is usually a few months or more for them to schedule the experience, so they can use it when works best for them.
